General Questions

Warranty / Terms & Conditions

Heat Exposure & Adhesive Performance
Aircon Rescue panels use industrial-grade adhesive rated to withstand continuous temperatures up to 35 °C.
Adhesive performance can be affected by conditions such as direct sunlight that overheats metal window frames, or restricted AC exhaust airflow from partially or closed windows while operating the AC, or AC’s with clogged air filters that cause exhaust heat to exceed 35 deg c.
Failures resulting from temperatures exceeding 35 °C or from environmental heat accumulation are not considered product defects and are not covered under any warranty.
Service visits or adhesive replacement required due to such conditions are subject to standard labour and material charges.

What is an Aircon AC Panel, how do they work?

Our custom-sized, clear acrylic panels provide a seamless solution for venting portable air conditioners through casement and sliding windows. Made from rigid, high-quality acrylic, these panels are designed to fit precisely over your window opening.

The panels attach to the inside frame perimeter using industrial-strength Velcro, allowing for easy removal and reusability. Depending on your AC unit, a precisely cut hole is included in the panel to accommodate the exhaust hose connection, ensuring efficient airflow while maintaining a secure, streamlined setup.

What are the advantages of using an Aircon AC Panel?

Aircon AC Panels are designed to maximize your portable AC’s cooling efficiency by ensuring hot exhaust air is properly vented outside. The secure seal created by our panels prevents warm outdoor air from re-entering your home, helping your AC run more effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, our panels provide several key benefits:

  • Improved energy efficiency – By sealing the window opening, your AC doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain a cool temperature.
  • Reduced outside noise – The rigid acrylic panel acts as a barrier, minimizing outdoor sounds for a quieter indoor environment.
  • Clean and professional appearance – Our clear acrylic design blends seamlessly with your window, offering a sleek and polished look.
  • Removable and reusable – The Velcro attachment system allows for easy installation, removal, and reinstallation when needed.

With an Aircon AC Panel, you get a simple, effective, and visually appealing solution for optimizing your portable air conditioner’s performance.

What window types work with our AC Window Panels

Our AC Window Panels are compatible with outward-swinging casement windows, awning windows, and horizontal or vertical sliding windows.

To ensure a proper and secure fit, please note the following requirements:

  • Your window must have a minimum of 1 inch of flat frame surface around the entire perimeter to attach the panel securely.

  • The window must open at least 4 inches to allow room for the panel and exhaust connection.

  • The window frame must be clean—free of paint buildup, residue, or mildew—to ensure proper adhesion.

  • Wood window frames are not compatible, as adhesives and Velcro do not bond reliably to wood surfaces.

  • Our panels do not create an airtight seal, as they attach using industrial-grade Velcro for easy installation and removal.

When installed correctly on compatible window types, the panels provide a stable and effective connection for your portable air conditioner while maintaining flexibility for seasonal use.

Do You Have Solutions for Sliding Patio Doors?

Yes, we do! We offer clear acrylic panels designed to work with many sliding patio doors — perfect for AC hose inserts, protective barriers, or custom home projects.

Our panels are custom-cut to size and range in width from 10″ to 16″, depending on your AC hose type and setup. They’re easy to install and remove, with no permanent modifications required.

🔧 How It Works:

  • The panel velcros to the frame around your sliding door and to the opening edge of the door frame.

  • To open or close the door, just peel back the velcro from the door itself — quick and simple.

Sliding door types that work with our AC Panels?

These panels attach using industrial-grade Velcro applied around the inside edge of the sliding door frame, effectively securing the panel in place while allowing for easy removal.

To ensure proper installation and performance:

  • The sliding door must be on the inside track, which helps minimize the gap between the door and the fixed frame.

  • The door frame must be made of smooth plastic or metal for the Velcro to adhere properly.

  • Wood frames are not compatible, as the Velcro adhesive does not bond reliably to wood surfaces.

When installed correctly, the panel forms a stable and efficient connection for portable air conditioner ventilation through a sliding door opening.

Can the AC Panels be removed easily?

Yes — both window and sliding door panels can be easily removed by gently pulling the panel away from the window or door frame. The industrial-grade Velcro provides a strong hold but allows for simple removal when needed.

When detaching the panel, take care to pull slowly and evenly to avoid lifting the Velcro adhesive from the frame surface. With proper handling, the Velcro will maintain its strength for repeated seasonal use.

Are AC Panels sizes custom designed for a perfect fit?

Yes — each panel is custom-made to fit your window or sliding door’s exact measurements. Every order is built to match your specific window dimensions, ensuring the best possible alignment and performance.

Panels can also include cutouts for latches, tabs, or handles located around the frame, allowing the panel to fit securely without interfering with your window’s hardware or operation.

Can windows be locked with the panel connected to the window?

Yes — in most cases, windows can still be locked while the panel remains attached.

  • Sliding windows: You can unlock or lock the window by gently pulling back the side of the panel that’s connected to the movable window pane. Once the window is closed and locked, simply press the panel back into place — the Velcro will securely reattach.

  • Casement windows with latch handles: These can usually be fully closed and locked with the panel in place.

  • Casement windows with lock mechanisms on the sash: You can partially release the side of the panel where the lock is located, close and lock the window, then reattach the panel. The panel will remain hanging in place while doing so.

With careful handling, the panel can stay securely installed while still allowing you to lock your window for safety and security.

Can an AC Panel be shared between multiple rooms?

Yes — an AC Panel can be used in more than one room if the windows are the exact same size. For an additional $18, a second set of Velcro can be applied to another window frame, allowing you to easily transfer the panel between rooms as needed.

This option provides flexibility for customers who wish to move their portable air conditioner between spaces without purchasing an additional panel.

How Panels connect

How do AC Panels attach to casement, awning windows, sliding windows and doors??

AC Panels attach using 1″ hook-and-loop (Velcro) with strong adhesive backing, available in white or black. The tape is applied around the inside window frame, and matching Velcro is on the AC Panel’s edge. Simply press the panel into place when needed and pull it off when not in use.

What is Hook & Loop (velcro)?

Hook-and-loop (Velcro) is a fastening system made of two strips — one with tiny hooks and one with soft loops — that securely stick together when pressed and pull apart when needed.

How long can the hook and loop hold before it wears out needing replacement?

Our high-temperature hook and loop is designed to last for many years if the AC panel stays below 35 °C .

Extreme heat can shorten its life — for example, if:

  • The window opens less than 6″ (causing exhaust heat to bounce back onto the panel)

  • The AC runs with the window partly or fully closed (causing the unit to overheat and trap hot air)

  • AC air filters are clogged, causing the unit to overheat and expel air hotter than 40 °C / 122 °F

  • Metal window frames heat up past 35 °C (104 °F) in direct sunlight

If the adhesive softens or loosens, the hook and loop may need to be replaced.
We offer a re-application service for a small fee.

What can damage the hook and loop causing it to detatch from window frame or the panel

Our high-temperature hook and loop is designed to last for many years if the AC panel stays below 35 °C / 104 °F.
However, certain conditions can cause temperatures to exceed this limit and weaken the adhesive, leading it to detach:

  • The window opens less than 6″ (causing exhaust heat to bounce back onto the panel)

  • The AC runs with the window partly or fully closed (causing the unit to overheat and trap hot air)

  • AC air filters are clogged, causing the unit to overheat and expel air hotter than 40 °C / 122 °F

  • Some metal window frames heat up past 35 °C in direct sunlight

If the adhesive softens or loosens under these conditions, the hook and loop may need to be replaced.
We offer a re-application service for a small fee if this occurs.

👉 See more details here: Causes & Fixes for Melting Velcro

Is there a guarantee if the Hook & Loop detatches

No — we do not offer a guarantee that the hook & loop adhesive will not melt or detach.
The factors that cause this are not a product quality issue but conditions beyond our control.

Detachment can happen if:

  • The window is opened less than 6″ (causing exhaust heat to reflect back onto the panel)

  • The AC runs with the window partly or fully closed (overheating the unit and trapping hot air)

  • AC filters are clogged, reducing airflow and increasing heat

  • Metal window frames become extremely hot from direct sunlight

We do our best to advise customers at the time of ordering about these risks.
Fortunately, less than 1% of our customers report any issues with their hook & loop.
When problems do occur, they’re almost always due to misuse or extreme heat conditions, not a defect in the adhesive itself.

If your hook & loop does fail, we offer a re-application service for a small fee.

👉 See more details here: Causes & Fixes for Melting Velcro

What is the fee for replacing or repairing detatched Hook & Loop?

If your hook & loop needs to be replaced or re-applied, our service fees are:

  • $55 — to replace the loop side on the first window or panel

  • $15 — for each additional window or frame that requires re-application

This service includes removing the old adhesive, preparing the surface, and applying new high-temperature hook & loop for a secure fit.

Does the Hook & Loop create an airtight seal between the panel and the window or sliding door frame?

No — the connection between the panel and the window or sliding door frame is not fully airtight.
The hook and loop creates a tight fabric mesh that greatly reduces airflow and drafts, but it isn’t a complete air seal.

It does, however, create a seal that is tight enough to keep out small insects and significantly limit warm air from entering around the panel.

How can adhesive from the hook & loop be removed from the window frame?

Yes — the adhesive can be removed, and it’s much easier if you use the correct method and tools.
We’ve created a step-by-step guide to help you safely remove the adhesive without damaging your window frame.

👉 See our full guide here: Remove Adhesive from a Window Frame

Can rain seep in between the AC Panel and the window / door frame?

No — this should not be an issue. The AC panel fits securely against the window or door frame, and the hook & loop system creates a tight seal that prevents water from entering.

We’ve never received feedback from customers reporting any rain leakage problems with our panels.

Does Hook & Loop stay on the window or sliding door frame year round?

Yes — we recommend keeping the hook (rough) side attached to the window or door frame year-round, even after removing the AC panel for winter storage. This helps maintain the best adhesion and makes reinstallation quick and easy the following season.

If you prefer to remove and reapply it, we recommend using our hook & loop reapplication service to ensure a proper, long-lasting bond.

Material Specs

What material do we use to make our AC Panels?

Our AC Panels are made from high-quality 4 mm thick clear cast acrylic. This material is known for its optical clarity, strength, and durability, making it ideal for both residential and commercial window installations.

Cast acrylic offers several advantages:

  • Crystal-clear transparency (up to 92% light transmission)

  • Rigid and impact-resistant yet lighter than glass

  • Weather and UV resistant, so it won’t yellow or warp over time

  • Easy to clean and maintain, keeping a professional, polished look year after year

Each panel is laser-cut for precision and polished edges, ensuring a clean fit and smooth finish that enhances both performance and appearance.

How much does an AC Panel weight?

AC Panel weight varies by size, typically ranging from 3 to 9 pounds and easy to handle.

What are the befefits of our acrylic materials

Our cast acrylic offers excellent clarity, strength, and durability. It’s lightweight, weather- and UV-resistant, and won’t yellow or warp over time—making it ideal for long-lasting, professional-quality AC panels.

Do AC Panels reduce outside noise?

Yes — while not soundproof, our 4 mm cast acrylic panels help reduce outside noise by adding a solid barrier over the window opening, resulting in noticeably quieter indoor spaces.

Can the AC Panels be recycled?

Yes — acrylic panels can be recycled, but the Velcro must be removed first. Recycling requires a specialized facility that accepts acrylic (PMMA) materials, as standard curbside programs typically do not. We recommend checking with local plastic recycling centers or fabrication shops that handle acrylics.

What type of Portable AC's work with our AC Panels?

Our AC Panels work with any portable air conditioner. The system is compatible with hose diameters of 13 cm, 14 cm, 15 cm, 16 cm, and 18 cm — referring to the diameter of the actual hose, not the plastic adapter at the end.

The 15 cm (5.9″) hose size is the most common, fitting about 95% of portable AC units. Please note that dual-hose air conditioners require a special mounting procedure to ensure proper airflow and performance.

How do portable round AC hoses connect to our AC Panels?

If your portable AC uses one of the most common hose sizes — 15 cm (5 ¾”) or 13 cm (5″) — we’ll provide our own adapter that easily connects your hose directly to the panel.

For less common hose diameters, such as 16 cm (6 ¼”), 14 cm (5.5″), or 18 cm (7.25″), we’ll mount the original adapter that came with your AC unit into the panel to ensure a secure and proper fit.

How do portable AC's with oval dual hose systems connect to our AC Panels?

Connecting a dual-hose portable AC requires a bit more preparation. We’ll need the mounting adapter accessory that originally came with your AC unit.

Some models do not include this adapter — if needed, we offer compatible adapters for $55.00. These adapters are mounted directly into the panel, allowing the connection to occur between your dual-hose and the adapter, not between the adapter and the panel itself.

This method prevents stress on the acrylic and avoids cracking that could occur if the adapter were snapped directly into the panel.

What if your hose is damaged or missing parts?

Your AC hose must be in good condition — free from cracks, warping, or damage — to ensure a proper seal and airflow.

We offer replacement hoses in the two most common sizes: 13 cm (5″) and 15 cm (5 ¾”), as well as a selection of adapter parts to replace missing or broken components.

Can we buy hoses or extended length hose from Aircon Rescue?

es — we sell replacement and extended-length hoses for portable air conditioners.

Hoses are available in the two most common sizes: 13 cm (5″) and 15 cm (5 ¾”), and can be purchased in standard or 8-foot extended lengths. We also offer a selection of adapter parts to replace missing or damaged components, ensuring a proper fit and secure connection to your AC Panel.
